State Rep. Ligi Receives 2010 Hainkel Leadership Award
The Louisiana Republican State Legislative Delegation announced State Representative Tony Ligi (R-District 79) as the recipient of the 2010 John J. Hainkel Leadership Award. The award, which is presented for outstanding leadership during the 2010 legislative session, is named after former Louisiana State Representative and State Senator, the late John J. Hainkel.
Hainkel was the only state legislator in the history of the United States to serve in the respective capacities as Speaker of the State House of Representatives and President of the State Senate.
Representative Ligi serves on the House Appropriations Committee, the House and Governmental Affairs Committee, the Committee on Municipal and Cultural Affairs, the Joint Budget Committee and the Audit Advisory Council.
District serves North Kenner and Metairie.
